When a door in your KIWI app shows the status "Tracked", it means that every attempt you make to open that specific door is saved in the system's access history.
The access history records who (your name and email address) attempted to open the door and when.
Why is this status displayed?
This status is for transparency and to inform you that openings are being logged. The "Access History" function is activated by the door's owner (e.g., your property management) for security and auditing purposes. It is intended to enable KIWI Portal users (property managers) to track who opened a door at what time, should the need arise.
Important Information on Data Protection
- Consent Required: According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), your system administrator (property manager/owner) is obliged to obtain your consent to create an access log for the doors you frequently use. If you have not consented to the logging of your openings, but see an active logging status displayed in the KIWI App, please contact your system administrator or landlord/property owner.
- Access: The access log is exclusively accessible to Portal Users (e.g., your property management) who have the corresponding permissions.
- No Access by KIWI: KIWI employees do not view the access history entries.
- No Sharing: The data from the access history is not shared with third parties.
- Storage Duration: The data is only stored for a limited period (standard is 90 days) and is automatically deleted afterwards.
